Project: The Urban Factory
For this unique contract, Apollo built a bespoke training facility – one of the largest in the country – in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear, used for giving young people quality training in gymnastics, cheerleading, tumbling and parkour (freerunning).
The completed venue includes a purpose-built parkour area from CAD (computer-aided design). The result was one of the biggest freerunning facilities in Europe with top-class equipment that is the envy of the sport’s athletes across Britain.
This project also included a full LED lighting upgrade for the building, a 16-camera CCTV system, full renovation of all toilet facilities, the replacement of all fire-escape doors, installation of palisade fencing, and the construction of a new parking area.
The Urban Factory now provides an accessible and safe environment for children as young as two years old to learn and have fun. It is also home to elite competition teams that have represented the UK at international events.
