Apollo FM is pleased to announce it has renewed its sponsorship of the Northeast Junior Football League for the 2021/22 season.
This will be the 21st season Apollo has been the league’s primary sponsor.
Formerly known as the Gateshead Youth League, the organisation has grown over the past two decades. It now welcomes approximately 160 teams for children aged 7-14 from across the North East.
The new season of the rebranded Apollo FM Northeast Junior Football League is scheduled to begin on June 19th.
“We are very grateful for Apollo’s continued support of the Northeast Junior Football League,” says Chris Lowther, NJFL secretary.
“With their support, we can continue to offer grassroots competitions for kids from all over the region.
“The sponsorship will help us keep league fees down for our member clubs and ensure we can hire facilities to host matches every week.
“Over the years, Apollo has committed tens of thousands of pounds to the league. Everyone involved thanks them for helping it grow into what it is today.”
Apollo FM director, Colin Simpson, is passionate about promoting youth football.
He has a history of running teams and helping players through their development and into the senior ranks. Some of the boys he coached have gone on to play in the Premier League.
Colin has known Chris since their days as coaches. He has supported the league for more than two decades – even before Apollo FM’s beginnings as Apollo Property Maintenance Ltd in 2005.
“We are delighted to renew our sponsorship of the Northeast Junior Football League for another season,” Colin says.
“I believe it’s important for Apollo to support organisations in our community. There is no better way for us to use our resources than to help Chris, his team, and the clubs of the NJFL.
“We can’t wait for the new season to begin, and we’re looking forward to seeing some potential stars of the future on the pitch.”
Apollo will also support the NJFL with its fundraising activities throughout the season.
